Certification tracking for ADP

ADP knows who works for you. It doesn't track whether each person's forklift ticket, first aid or fall protection is still current. Cadre adds that, and its ADP sync keeps the staff list matched to ADP so new hires, changes and leavers show up without anyone retyping them.

Pilot: the ADP connection is built but has not yet run against a live ADP account, and no customer uses it yet. It needs ADP API Central, a paid ADP add-on. Ask about joining the pilot.

What the connection does

The ADP sync is in pilot. Once connected, it is designed to:

  • New hires appear in Cadre with their job title and department, ready for the certifications their role needs.
  • Changes flow through. A new title or department in ADP updates Cadre on the next sync.
  • Leavers are handled. Someone terminated in ADP is marked as left in Cadre and stops getting renewal reminders. Nobody is deleted.
  • You see every change first. Cadre previews what it will create, update and mark as left, and applies it only when you say so.

Why this matters for certification tracking

A lot of expired tickets are not a training problem. They are a roster problem: the new hire who started before anyone added them to the tracking sheet, the transfer whose old tickets nobody checked, the leaver still getting reminders. When the staff list comes from ADP instead of a second spreadsheet, those three gaps close by themselves, and what is left is just booking the renewals on time.

Connecting it

The ADP integration is looking for its first pilot. Connecting it takes:

  1. ADP API Central on your ADP account (a paid add-on from ADP).
  2. Your ADP administrator creates a project there and issues a client ID, secret and certificate.
  3. In Cadre, open Settings, then Integrations, then ADP, and enter them.
  4. Press Preview, check the list of changes, then Apply.

Questions

Does Cadre replace ADP?

No. ADP stays your payroll and staff list. Cadre reads it and adds certification, training and compliance tracking on top, so nobody retypes employees into a second system.

What does Cadre read from ADP?

Each employee's name, work email, job title, department, hire date and employment status. Cadre does not change anything in ADP.

What happens when someone leaves?

When ADP shows them as terminated, Cadre marks them as left on the next sync, so they stop getting renewal reminders and drop off the current list. Nobody is deleted.

How do I connect it?

It needs ADP API Central, a paid add-on sold by ADP. Your ADP administrator creates a project there and issues a client ID, secret and certificate, which go into Cadre under Settings, then Integrations, then ADP. Cadre shows a preview of every change before anything is applied.

Is the ADP sync proven in production?

Not yet. The ADP connection is built but has not run against a live ADP account, and no customer uses it yet. Ask about joining the pilot.

Do I need to change how I run payroll?

No. Payroll keeps running exactly as it does today. Cadre only reads the staff list; it never touches pay, tax or banking data.
